It’s September which means it’s officially time to start getting excited about winter! Les Gets is one of our favourite resorts for its picture postcard village feel with family-friendly ski-in / ski-out access, but it’s far from a sleepy ski town. Les Gets really comes to life in the winter, with exciting events for adults and kids alike, some incredible skiing and exceptional bars and restaurants. There’s always something happening, be it a new event, a new restaurant or updates to the ski area. Here’s all the new additions we’ve got to look forward to this winter.
A Folie Douce for the Portes du Soleil
Part of the massive Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil ski area, Les Gets is just a short ski away from Avoriaz, which this winter will be the home of a brand new Folie Douce. Providing the world’s most iconic mountain restaurant experience, at the Folie Douce you can expect daily live music, cabaret shows, an electric atmosphere, and top-notch food and drink.

New Opening Dates
Les Gets is always one of the first Portes du Soleil resorts to offer summer mountain biking, opening its bike park at weekends from the end of May, and this year it’s taking the sentiment to winter. Providing we have the snow conditions, Les Gets will open at the weekends from the 24th November, which is even earlier than the Portes du Soleil’s highest and most snow-sure resort, Avoriaz. Fingers crossed for early snowfalls!
Winter Lounge Music Festival
The Les Gets Lounge Music Festival is a cool and casual music festival that takes place in the village over two weeks in August. This March will see the first ever Winter Lounge Music Festival, featuring a range of genre-spanning musical performances and intimate concerts every day throughout the town’s bars and restaurants. You’ll have a huge range to pick from every day, making for excellent après sessions and atmospheric dinners out; the perfect excuse to get out and enjoy the spring weather!

Vina Annapurna’s First Winter
Our first restaurant in Les Gets, Vina Annapurna, is busy preparing for its first winter. The restaurant has been open all summer, serving a delicious menu created with the best regional and seasonal products and winter will be no different. Located in our prestigious Annapurna residence in the centre of Les Gets, this winer Vina Annapurna will be offering delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners, as well as a fantastic wine and cocktail selection. We can tell you the food is absolutely incredible and we’re really excited for you to try it!
Vina Annapurna offers an incredible selection of regional and seasonal produce.
Les 100 Ciels d’Hiver
Another summer event transitioning to winter, Les 100 Ciels is a week-long collection of wellness-themed workshops, seminars, classes and treatments that encourages us all to relax and take care of ourselves. This winter, Les 100 Ciels d’Hiver will be bringing the same concept to the snow. Taking place at the end of January, there will be lots of wellbeing options to choose from, taking place both on and off the snow.

New Winter E-Bike Tracks
As winter e-biking grows in popularity, Les Gets is getting ahead of the trend. This winter the resort plans to open a permanent ‘fat bike’ track between the summit of Mont Chery and the alpages of Mont Caly. Perfect for everyone from keen mountain bikers to complete first timers, electric fat bikes (as you can probably guess) have fat tyres that grip the snow and an electric motor that makes those uphill sections much more manageable. Look out for free winter e-bike demos and taster sessions at the foot of the pistes throughout the winter.
A New Piste
Les Gets is always working on making its ski area more accessible so as many people as possible can explore the resort. This winter will see the opening of a new blue piste in the Perrieres sector, which starts at the Perrieres car park at the bottom of town. The new blue run will allow skiers and snowboarders to easily return to the base of the Express Perrieres chairlift, which will not only open up new possibilities to intermediates and beginners, but also disperse piste traffic, and provide easier access to the car park and residences in the Perrieres area.
If any of this sounds appealing to you and you think you’s like to invest in a new home in Les Gets, we’re currently reserving off-plan in our new Les Gets residence, Kinabalu. Kinabalu is a centrally-located collection of one- to six-bedroom apartments with an in-house spa, restaurant and concierge service. Get in touch with our team in Les Gets for more details.
